He's the one who recruited him, he's the one who brought him on this mission, and he's the one who told him to track down the boss on his own. There's nothing anyone could do to convince him that Abacchio's death isn't Bucciarati's fault, and I can only imagine the will and grit it would take to ignore that and press on.
