2024-05-07 23:08:03 +0000 UTCThe reason the art style changed is that Hirohiko Araki's art style changes drastically over the course decades, 1987 was when it started, and even in within the part, so what the anime studio David Productions has done is they decided to go with the art style the manga was in when each Part of the manga finished, Araki has said he's completely forgotten how he used to draw certain characters, if you look at certain drawings of the same character side by side, you wouldn't necessarily be able to recognize the faces and their human body as the same person

2024-05-07 06:37:56 +0000 UTCThere were a few scenes in part 3 when you can see Jotaro reading magazines about the sea and stuff, like very subtle hints that he actually always had an interest in marine biology :D Also, since you're playing Danganronpa, you should know that Mondo is in fact a big Josuke reference. His gang's name was "Crazy Diamond", which is Josuke's stand's name in the original version, and he and his brother's names are actually a play on the word "Diamond" (Daiya and Mondo). And of course, the crazy hairstyle!

2024-05-06 16:22:27 +0000 UTCYeah, the art style took me a while to get used to at first. Luckily, it fits the vibe of Part 4 really well and compliments the eeriness. There's also an artist that Araki is a big fan of named Paul Gauguin and you can see some similarities between Gauguin's art style and Part 4's colors too. Him and Tony Viramontes (known for his fashion illustrations) have had a huge impact on Jojo's aesthetic so I wouldn't be surprised if it played a role in Part 4's art direction.

2024-05-06 15:58:46 +0000 UTCJust letting you know now, the intro changes at Episode 8, Episode 15, Episode 27, and Episode 36. Also, a little fun fact, but in the crowd of people at the end of this episode, there's actually the silhouettes of a bunch of characters that show up later in this season...

2024-05-06 15:52:11 +0000 UTCFrom here on out, most, if not all, stand names are music references Josuke's stand, Crazy Diamond, is a reference to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd

2024-05-05 18:28:31 +0000 UTCThe manga for this part starts off looking very similar to Part 3 and then it changes dramatically over the course of the part and ends up looking similar to the art style seen in later parts. The anime tried to find a happy medium in between the two styes and I personally find it a little weird looking.
