It's kind of a meme in the community that the real person who started the great pirate era was the guy who shouted to Roger. If he never asked Roger about the one piece would Roger have said anything? lol

2024-04-05 20:30:57 +0000 UTCI really love this episode and smoker as a character. It just shows, that this whole world isnt just black and white. You have good and evil on both sides. Good pirates and evil pirates and so are the marines, and the dynamics where you grow up, shows for whom you root. Oda really does a great job in slowly giving the world more layers. And to answer your question: Eiichiro Oda himself confirmed in an interview with Momoko Sakura that the One Piece is not something like "the journey itself was the real treasure" and that it is, in fact, a physical reward. Why he was smiling has had another reason, and yes, he inspired a whole new generation of pirates, thus starting the new age of piracy.

But Oda( the creator of one piece) said, the One Piece is actually something, not the stereotypical, it was the journey and memories you made along the way. It is an actual object or something else like that.

2024-04-05 20:10:52 +0000 UTCI like the episodes in Loguetown a lot. It’s crazy when I found out the bar part of the episode was all filler. It did such a good job being its own thing and hyping up what kind of person Roger was and how luffy is so similar to him.
