Note on currency in this world: As the creator is Japanese One Piece currency denominations are much more like Yen than dollars. Currently 1000 Yen exchanges for about 7 dollars. So when you're talking about Millions of berries it's more like thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

2024-01-13 14:18:27 +0000 UTCIt was actually incorrectly animated which is part of the confusion. In the manga the guy he chokes out covers his throat with his hands so you can't see it. in the anime they showed imprints of an invisible hand on his exposed throat.
