Templar Organization

A chart showing the basics of the Templar hierarchy, suggested by SpillTheFire6!

History:

The Templar started out as a tiny guild, funded by one well-connected individual (who I haven't had time to flesh out yet). They only really rose to prominence during the first war against the Keidran hundreds of years prior to the start of the comic. A war which the human race was losing ground due to the overwhelming Keidran numbers until the Templar helped turn the tide. This made them very popular among the human populace, who saw them as noble protectors rather than the zealots they'd eventually become.

Basic Hierarchy:

The Grand Templar sits at the top and controls the overall direction of the guild. The Master Templars act as his inner circle, basically a board of directors. They have areas they focus on, but there's a lot of overlap. They delegate tasks to the High Templars, who are the senior commanders of the various Templar Corps. From there it splinters off into more specific roles and ranks, depending on the corps, going from Mages and Knights all the way down to Initiates.

The Templar have a lot of "off the books" R&D and secret employees who aren't technically part of the organization, and there's a lot of infighting among the ranks regarding which department should control what and who should be at the top.

Ever since Trace's coup and eventual disappearance, many Templar feel like the guild has become a ship without a rudder, with leaders preoccupied with their own agendas rather than the betterment of the guild as a whole.

----

This took a lot of time and research, since the inner workings of the Templar is not something I had fully fleshed out in my personal notes. Keep in mind, I am not actually the manager of an evil organization in real life, so if there's any gaps or issues regarding how a large company would really be run, I apologize! Feel free to share your own input if you have some expertise, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Dang, I guess I was wrong about my suspicion that Tom manages an evil organization in real life. Saves me the trouble of proving it though

Joe

Breaking and entering, with an emphasis on stealth.

KaiserDunk

We know from https://www.patreon.com/posts/keidran-traitor-77465970 that the Templars do have Keidran agents. Whether they be among their own kind or as workers in the background of Human lands...no one would suspect Keidran as Templar spies.

Spillthefire6

Interesting insight into the lore, I just have one question. What's infilration mean?

luckmans2

Reminds me of shrina from ff7.

K_D Lawrence

I'm wondering why espionage is represented by a beastkin considering the hatred the templars have for them.

DeadMan

Still less confusing than that organization of 13 or so black-cloaked dudes running around with giant keys and whining about "hearts".

Kris Schnee

Is it me or dose the Master Templar in charge if Finances and Organizational Planning looks very familiar. To me, that Templar, with the (I assume) long white hair and glasses has a very familiar “wolfish” grin and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen ‘em before.

Trollman906

Very cool insight into the Mekkan Evil, Incorporated! Neat style of presentation. I wonder how many of these High Templar we've already seen, and how many will we see?

Ordithus

You don't need to run a evil organization,it's just a matter of creativity.

Isaiah James

I think it would take awhile given how strong Trace made his inner circle

Isaiah James

"Sir, Templar candidate 204 has had a rough day, and is hugging the bunny while insisting that he tried his best." "Did he?" "Yes, but it was probably only as good as most people's average."

SuperTaster

Seems like a pretty diverse organization. I only see two gaps. One, the lack of Assistant Master Templars and Assistant High Templars. AKA 2nds to the post, who can fill in for their boss. Two, while there's Logistics and Training, there's no proper Combat arm.

James

I demand a name for the child, Tom! I love her too much T^T

Winged Cat Productions

Master spy (right) shows up occasionally taking various roles followed by Euchre, the middle is the master seer turned grand templar currently gunning for Trace to keep his position, then the master architect that was in charge of the tower being built on the basitin island (I think he died there)

Cliff Warden

Now THIS is the kind of fan service I can get behind.

Cliff Warden

As a hechman of an evil organization, looks about right, except needs more bureaucracy and middle management 😜

Tom's Pizza is a Templar Front Organization.

Wilford B. Wolf

It might seem that way, but if you stop to consider, she sees through their eyes, they could give her some terrible nightmares lol

Timmainsson

Going forward 300yrs. They became Chase Manhattan...🤣😂🤣😂

Now this exactly what I hoped for. Love Deep Lore like this. We had been getting a lot of Trace background as well as new Keidran groups so a bit of a infograph on the central organization of Twokinds I thought would be cool. I knew this took a while and required some putting together from you but I am glad this came about. As with all good lore, some gaps are left to fill but now that a real structure is here,I hope it can be helpful both Here and in the comics. I enjoy the distinct figures of each branch and the little icons with all their little implications. Espionage being a Keidran and Politics being simply a bloody dagger is very telling. Thanks.

Spillthefire6

Just wanna note that the core usage of the PR department is the Daughter's Eyes, rather than being in Information Gathering. Does... does she have a petting zoo of familiars? That would be Adorable.

SuperTaster

Who's who among the Master Templars? They all have defined faces (except the blonde on the left), so I assume we've seen at least most of them already, but I've long forgotten who they are.

coredumperror

"Keep in mind, I am not actually the manager of an evil organization in real life..." An oddly specific denial Tom 🤔🤣

Saberbeam

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Templars going forward. Trace & company will have to put a stop to them (and the war) if they ever want to know peace.

The Sexy Beast

Great lore there. Sirius seems to do a lot of his own dirty work for somebody in such a high position - maybe he likes it. The power plays, infighting, and organisational structure gives me vibes of Nazi Germany in 1944/5 - seemingly monolithic, organised and untouchable to people watching from the outside, but internally riven by personal empire building and incompetence, and everyone having their personal escape plans.

THE LOOOOORE

NoahE07

yoooo so much lore 👀🧡
