The lamp is usually just for a disguise of sorts, to not raise suspicion from strangers. The only problem that can arise is if the wisp and physical body are separated by too much distance, in which case the wisp can begin to lose control of the body, causing the body to become "absent-minded", disoriented, lost, confused.
