Human Willow

Interesting story. It'd be cool to see the rest of it.

Gorgeously spooky.

<p style="color: #008600;">I like it! This dark forest and Willow in the middle of it, it's really impressive! Love the colors!</p>

"So, wayward fragment of mine, I see that you have found some new followers-and taken a new shell, as well!" The skeletal dragon rippled with a sickening green glow. "Bring them here, so I may entertain unto them my hospitality. I shall grant them a welcome rest." The hairs on Willow's skin stood up against the cold, her pale complexion a beacon from within her dark robes. Behind her, Kathrin and Laura held back, inching away as a legion of wisps closed in behind them. "That won't be happening, Mother. They are under MY protection." The Mother laughed, a sickening, raking cough of dead brambles and withered trees. "I don't think you have any say in the matter, Wisp!", she retorted. "Though your appearance has changed, you will always be but a fragment of myself. Now, bring your followers to me." There was an insistent, HUNGRY look to her eyes now. "I insist upon hosting them for the night." "Umm...Willow?" It was Kathrin who spoke up. "There are...a lot more of these wisp things...and they're boxing us in..." "Don't worry," Willow responded. "They cannot hurt you if you don't follow them. If you don't follow me." She turned back to the Mother, her gaze set with anger, and grief. "You will not touch them!" The Dragon gave a bored sigh, and her voice sank to a menacing growl. "Very well. They will fall eventually...and this time, you won't be there to help them...as if you could even try." "Laura...Kathrin..." Willow's robes billowed as her form shifted between her human and lioness shell, the rotting dragon climbing from her pit before them. "Run. Away from here." "But what about you?" Laura had a horrified look in her eyes. "Won't she....eat you?!" "I'll be fine. You both taught me...", a wry smile crossed her face as she pulled out a sewing pincushion, thread and a thick lead, "Some interesting tricks." The Mother roared, the Keidran made haste away, and the Willow Wisp turned to follow her own destiny.

As Chaucer said, “The hills have eyes and the trees, ears.”

You travel into the woods and as you get further and furter in the colors starts to bleed from the world. Eventually you light a torch and everything is black and white. As you walk around, trying to find a way out, you see what you think is blue. With the hope of the sky and the sun you rush through the trees but the light seems to flee from you. Dashing as if possesed you finally catch the light in a clearing, but instead of a way out you see a pale young woman clad in tattered black robes, the blue light coming from her misty lantern. She turns to you with tears in her eyes and in a low voice whispers "why didn't you stay away" as you hear the sound of a branch breaking and everything goes black.....

That feeling when you realize Willow isn't alone in this picture. ...That other feeling when you realize I'm not talking about the other wisp. Amazing work, Tom! Willow looks so hauntingly beautiful. And the forest is so foreboding. Almost like it's... watching us. *Gulps nervously.* Anyway, congrats, OnkelInferno!

And today, on music this brings to mind :) https://youtu.be/ZN91_Kb8Mbc

*Gets ready for a brisk walk through the creepy forest* Warning Sign: Stick to the trail. Beware of Will-o'-the-wisps, Rodents of Unusual Size, Blair Witches, Deadites, touchy-feely trees, and poison ivy. Me: It's far more dangerous crossing a street even when you have the right away. *Takes in the ghoulish fog with a deep breath and hikes*

Haunting beautiful, as it should be.

AstroChaos

"Oh! <i>There</i> you are! Your presence has... roused her attention. That doesn't happen often. You are a most determined specimen! Not... unremarkable... like the others. Good. energy." *trees leaves seem to ripple in a sudden wave-like unison* "Um, I was only trying to get home from a long last night at Riftwall West... did I make a wrong turn?" "Oh... yes <i>several</i>... but let's not dawdle on what's behind us, shall we? It might... catch up." "It would be prudent to focus your... essence... <i>I meannn...</i> sssensess wholly on the <i>path ahead.</i>" *hairs stand on end in unease* "so, uhm, 'her'!?! Is... someone else here!?" "Oh~! yes, she's... present. She's <i><b>really</b></i> taken a ~lichen~ to you." *leaves nearby rustle in a gossipy snicker sort of way* "a bit of tree humor, they really a-treeciate being acknowledged" *they wiggle again a bit softer this time* "Okayyy... So... You know a way out!?" "Ah, w-well... I can <i>try.</i>" "Just... be cautious!" *her voice trembles as it trails off*

Very nice, spooky forest. Willow looks beautiful and all the more strange as human. A familiar form with unfamiliar eyes, tattered robes, bare feet, and her unusual lantern. Yet she is the most comforting part of this scene. I'm doomed. Fantastic work!

Ordithus

She looks so gorgeous.

DiDiDi-X

That's wonderful! Both sweet and eerie. :)

Rosenkavalier

If I met her out in the woods at night I would be more intrigued then anything. She looks so kind, would happily count her as a friend.

Richard V.

All the leaves around are stirring, all that mist in the distance whirring... and that creepy form in that far clearing only seems to disembodily whisper softly in my ear... “Nevermore~“

CrRAR

I'm scared and delighted... I'm scarighted!

This came out great. Loving the spooky asthenic.

Congrats! This is something I wanted to see since The Mother SCP sketch because the article I wrote (that is currently stuck in limbo until I’ve got enough time to get it approved) has a reference to Willow assuming a human form for some time (on account of SCP being set in our world).

DarthKeidran

i love the smokey scenery and the night time of it and i would be spooked for sure if i saw willow if i didn't expect anyone at night time what if the legends were true if a spirit with no ill intend tries to guide people to the nearest town and said traveler dies

silver dragonia

I love this. The eerie setting. Willow’s ghostlike complexion. Yet, true to character, she still appears she’d be friendly. Her face almost looks like she’s thinking: “Not another person. Should I say hi? Or am I better off leaving?

DarthKeidran

wow ♥️ thank you very much Tom. she looks even more gorgeous coloured
