Idea for this scenario to make sense: Keith somehow managed to make it to his house just before Albion killed his mother, and instead manages to kill him instead. As he drives his spear through his chest, Cornelius makes home just in time to see the life leaving Albion and his wife injured; he then rushes to Kathleen's side seemingly un-caring about Keith, but secretly impressed that he had the will to kill one of the Basitin Generals. In an equally covert decision, Cornelius; while Cathleen is in Recovery from her wounds and Keith is being incarcerated for the Albions Murder, steals and destroys the evidence regarding Kathleen's origin as a westerner (AKA the stuff his son would've recovered and exposed in Keith's trial in the Canon timeline) to protect her and to prevent Keith from being executed. He would not however, testify against the decision to have Keith banished on the condition to return with the Grand Templar; and would see to casting him off the Island himself, giving him his armor and helmet claiming it to be "A reminder of the burden he now carries." (in actuality it's some way to give him protection himself in the Keidren lands). Days later Kathleen awakens from her injuries and is visited by Cornelius with a somber expression on his face and the following Conversation ensues: Kathleen: Uuuuggggh~~ Why does everything hurt? Cornelius: Albion may've been old, but the bastard still had plenty of fight in him. Kathleen: *GASP* Cornelius!!! You're alright! -He Kneels to hug his love as she lies upright in bed and as soon as they separate she notices her son is absent- Kathleen: W-Where's Keith? *her eyes grow wide with fear* Don't tell me that Alabaster...?! Cornelius: Calm down dear. Keith is alive, I made sure of that. -Cornelius explains his plan/reasonings for everything. As he does Kathleen tears up at the thought of her son being alone and lost in a strange land without his parents- Cornelius: Don't cry. He'll be alright, and I know he'll be back. Kathleen: *She dries her tears* How could you possibly know that? Cornelius: Because... , he's a Keiser. Fast forward a few years later in this AU where Keith and Laura did get married but were still forced out of the village due to the prejudiced, and they've settled in human city. Where Keith runs into Trace like in the Canon Universe (and maybe Flora meets Laura while she's in the woods) and they decide to travel together to the Basidian Islands; which eventually leads up to the scene as sketched above. If anyone wants details on how the encounters with Natani, Eric, and everyone else would've gone, let me know I only had to cut this short because it's late at night when I'm typing this up (that and I just realized today that you can break lines using shift+enter)

This is-" Jade: "This is acceptable by our law. Keith made his condition. And don't you dare call any Keidran 'filthy'! We all know that Cornelius married a Westerner. Do you understand?!" Alabaster: "Y-yes ma'am! But what people thought about it?" Alaric: If it's so much problem, then we put Keith to the continent again... as a general ambassador" Jade: "Hmmm... considering that Keith is the only Basitin in the Empire who visited Mekkan, it's not a bad idea" Madelyn: *eavesdropping* "Maybe if I befriend the new general, I'll be another ambassador!"

I saw the reactions on Picarto: "Huh" - I still can't believe that "How?" - Keith often disobeyed orders because of being Half-Western. Alabaster, knowing it, accused him of being a Western spy (In that way, only Keith would be punished but Cornelius won't suffer any consequences). The condition for return was more possible because people didn't think he was a flipping murderer. "Congrats, Kap!" - Seriously, how did I win?! "Uh...um" - I didn't know it left you guys with such confusion. "Is this legal?" - I don't know for sure but Happy Keith isn't illegal, only very very very rare In short: Tom doesn't know how to explain this AU, you guys are wondering why Keith was banished, and I still have no idea how I won this voting PS: Thank you!

Nick got himself banished... for doing Nick stuff... and Keith had to go to the mainland to find him? My head cannon was he was banished for another reason. After all he was able to return with out Trace so maybe it was a temporary banishment. What for? I don't know maybe he broke the king's favorite vase who cares.
