How it is made
This shot was taken outdoors, as you can guess from the shadows the light was approximately that of 12.00 AM and the sky was semi-covered by the clouds (which is why the shadows are soft). I chose to set the diaphragm slightly closed to have enough of the face focussed and the rest gradually blurred but visible (maybe a closure at ƒ 4.0/5.6 would have been even better). The shot is very simple, the idea was to transmit that sense of peace and tranquillity given by the closed eyes and a mouth that almost wants to make you feel a hint of smile.
Post-production
Post-production was very basic: development of digital negative (with Capture One), just a little retouch of lights and shadows, contrasts and micro contrasts, a retouching to tonal values and few photo-editing to remove some little skin imperfections.
