It isn't Cortana, it's UNSC AI RED. THough, they will meet Cortana and the Chief when they're driving the Covenant of the UNSC Infinity... The idea is that Raine's one of the new Spartan 4s, and she was in the same Pelican as Palmer, Lasky and others when it was shot down, and got seperated. RED is a totally different AI, although, some of Cortana's code did get in...

UNSC AI RED had a glitch during the AI formation causing the gender templates to be...mixed up. Some of Cortana's residual coding also got mixed in, hence the resemblance.

Interesting (although I've never played Halo Single Player before). <br><br>Questions: Why is it in the first paragraph the years jumped from 2532 to 2235? How long does it take Raine to actually remove her helmet to switch forms? Does switching forms also change her armor as well to suit any major biological changes (from plantigrade legs to digitigrade legs, smaller to taller frame, etc)?

Normally I'd be pissed off about Red being Cortana but even that is better than Cortana's portrayal in Halo 5.

UNSC Spartan-IV Raine Silverlock-Datafile Origins and Childhood: Raine Silverlock was first discovered in a military base on the colony Algolis, in Mach 2532. Adopted by Janet and Edgar Silverlock (from whom she takes the surname), both UNSC Military personnel, she displayed extraordinary traits whilst growing up, including shapeshifting into an anthropomorphic wolf-human hybrid. Due to this capability, numerous attempts to kidnap her were made by the Office of Naval Intelligence until her fourteenth year, when attempts were abandoned due to a disclosure of information, and threats of legal action. In the year 2535, the Silverlocks evacuated the planet with numerous UNSC Personnel and civilians, owing to an impending Covenant Bombardment. They would later settle on the military planet Reach. UNSC Service during the war: Raine Silverlock joined the UNSC in 2550, at approximate age 18, as an ODST Helljumper. She and her squadron were deployed during the battle of Meridian, where as part of ODST Fireteam Silver, she single-handedly eliminated a militia group consisting of two Elites, five Brutes, a dozen jackals and seventeen grunts. During the later stages and retreats, Fireteam Silver eliminated a Wraith and two Hunters without aid, before evacuating as the planet was glassed. Raine's squad would participate in the battle for Reach in 2552, aiding in the evacuation of civilians after operation Uppercut. Again, they were evacuated, at the cost of the Fireteam's sniper, Alexis Volkoff. This would greatly affect all within the team. During the Battle of Earth, Silverlock and her squad covered the retreat from the flood outbreak around New Mombasa. She was cut off from her squad, but was able to escape by hijacking a Covenant Banshee in the vicinity. Along with her squadron, she was present during the armistice between Lord Hood and the Arbiter at the end of the War, in 2554. Post War UNSC Service: Among all in Fireteam Silver, due to her outstanding tenacity, Raine was chosen to become a Spartan IV commando. She accepted the offer, and became part of UNSC Infinity's Spartan Compliment, assigned to Fireteam Luna in 2556, under the command of Spartan Sarah Palmer. At the Start of her service, Raine was provided with Experimental Artificial Intelligence, 'RED'. This AI is unusual in that while based off the neural mapping of a male scientist within the UNSC (whose initials were R.E.D, hence the name), during the creation process, a combination of a system glitch and a mismatching template caused the A.I. to assume the form of a holographic, blue, nude woman (Similar to the Master Chief's AI, Cortana-in fact, some believe that traces of her code may have been integrated during the creation). RED takes it in her stride, and provides essential assistance to her Spartan companion. During the First Battle of Requiem, in 2558, Raine would be among the scattered troops on the planet, after the Pelican carrying herself, Captain Lasky and Commander Palmer was shot down. Seperated from the rest of the forces, she was able to fight her way through combined Covenant-Promethean Resistance, and would aid the Master Chief in clearing a path to Infinity from the Scorpion, and eliminating boarders in the ship on certain decks. She would also play a part in the mission to destroy the gravity Well, being present during the last push. As of the Created Uprising, Spartan Raine remains active on UNSC Infinity, along with the rest of it's complement. Notes: Due to her status as a Halfkind, at the cost of removing her helmet, Spartan Raine can take advantage of the heightened senses and strength the form has to offer her. This has, throughout her service, been used to deadly effect-for example, detecting and eliminating invisible Elite Zealots by using her senses of smell and hearing. She cannot use this form, however, in certain environments where the hazards would be too great (e.g. Space, quarantine zones, bombardment zones). She is seen here, in a Mjolnir Gen2 form of the Mark 7 armour, with both of those forms, just after the Pelican Crash on Requiem. Multiversal note: Owing to variations in the nature of the multiverse, it is believed that a copy of Raine Silverlock from Mekkan (the continent of the world in Twokinds) was created, and pulled through to the Haloverse as an infant.

I actually have a full backstory for this picture (or rather, for Halo Raine and Red). I'm really happy that it got through, and it does look brilliant. The way I see it, She and Red have just recovered from a crash-landing from Palmer and Lasky's Pelican on Requiem, in the Halo 4 Mission 'Infinity'. I like that you took the time make an alternate version of this sketch, Tom. Human Raine fits this sketch better than Wolf Raine as it looks more badass and it avoids me questioning how the heck can she fit that helmet with her muzzle head.
