Okay. Well, that does make sense. The only backstory of any depth I have on any of the characters, so far, is "The Dragon Masquerade". I hope that Tom does more of those comics so we can learn a wee bit more about what motivates his characters. I know it would be a lot of work but, I think it would be worth it.

I don't think he hated them until he lost his mind. I think the Trace we know now is close to the original Trace (though more clueless). I'm not sure Saria would have fallen for him if he hated Keidran originally

I’m glad that Rose, ironically, went from “about to be executed Wolf” to “best friends with the future spouse of a Tyrannical dictator”. I honestly believe it’s because of her extremely close relationship with Saria, and that she probably knew her better than Trace did, that she’s still alive and the Seneschal of the estate today.
