It was early morning, and rain was continuing. Tero woke and went out to let the previous guard get some rest. Raisa was hanging in her place, and the boy was keeping an eye on her. The night was warm, but it was better to make sure she is not getting too cold. The weather was warm, but heavy rain was annoying and made all the places wet. Tero decided to lit the gate torches to have some light in the gray morning.
Shifts in the watch tower were boring. There was no actual threat to them, and only some random travelers made days enjoyable. The village was small, but it was a good place for trade. Spring was silent. Ice had broken, and ships had sailed away. Autumn would be better when ships return full of goods and fortune.
Suddenly Tero notices light between the trees. Two figures with lit lantern were approaching the bridge to the village.
