“I will get us something to drink,” Minna said when she walked away, “Hey, Girl, come with me! This will take time.”

Minna took Ronja with her, and they disappeared between huts. She had seen so many tortures, and another salting would not bring much more joy. It was enough to know Raisa was captured and in chains. Tero was much more excited to see how Inga would do her job. He was encouraging Inga to start and do her work slow.

Inga placed her hand on Raisa’s sweaty skin. She rubbed salt on her wounds and enjoyed how coarse salt crystals were sinking to the injury. Raisa was shivering, and soon she was struggling and shouting. She was begging Inga to stop, but she would not leave her before all the bloody cuts in her body would receive treatment.
