Outclassed 2 - Page 49 (WIP)
Added 2025-12-06 16:57:52 +0000 UTCI had a bit of a dilemma here with Suarez's arm, whether I should draw the whole thing popping out of the panel and into Horacio's half of the page (since the other two panels have just enough negative space to fit it in), or if it should be cropped, and I decided to go for the latter. First to respect each character getting their own half of the page, and second to not force the reading order to be left to right and then down. The reading order is a bit unclear with the panels pushing in one direction and the text in another BUT I think that still works because it conveys a bit of the chaos of getting your attention pulled in two directions simultaneously, which is appropriate for this page.
I'm looking at Horacio's very shiny balls here (I finished this page ahead of time so it's been a minute or two) and I've been messing around a lot with Clip Studio Paint and blend tools specifically since finishing it and I feel like that would help sell it more naturally (the darker colors are cel shaded but the shinier are using a different brush and it doesn't look very uniform). I'm planning on doing my next long comic like this in CSP so we'll see how that works out. They're also getting a little more love than Suarez's balls which we can assume are more on the matte side of things because they're covered in fur and not more reflective sweaty skin.
