Barakamon is good, wholesome and light-hearted about a calligrapher who goes to live on and island that's pretty rural. Sweetness and Lightening is a really heart-warming story about a recently single father trying to take care of his daughter. Maybe not safe from the emotional rollercoaster completely since you have a daughter... Himouto! Umaru-Chan - about a girl who is serious at school but is relaxed and sloppy at home and loves playing video games, her brother kind of spoilers her. pokes fun at otaku culture.

It's my favorite arc in the manga and I'm beyond excited to watch it when it comes out in a year or two.

2022-09-18 18:02:46 +0000 UTCMy recommendation for a series would be The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's a slice of life story with a twist. There were only two seasons and one movie. The series was ridiculously popular when it came out and it is absolutely hilarious. Only 25 episodes and you could even skip about 5 episodes (you'd understand why when you get there). It's not something that you'd expect when you begin it but it is well worth a watch.

2022-09-18 16:34:18 +0000 UTCI was in the middle of my preliminary law exam when I got the notification for this reaction just a little while ago and I think I wanted to finish the exam to watch this more than just getting it over with lol aced the exam at the end and got to watch your reaction as my reward. Kaguya was what led me to be a patron and I am so glad I am one now. Can't wait for future reactions

The author of Kaguya sama took a lot of references from this series, many similar aspects especially the relation between the MC's.

2022-09-18 14:57:07 +0000 UTCIt might be recency bias for me because I just rewatched it a few weeks ago, but Fruits Basket would be a fantastic replacement. It's 3rd and final season also spent some time at #1 on MAL. As someone else said Horimiya is great. Bunny Girl Senpai is another good one. My Dress up Darling was super popular and just got a season 2 announced. Side note on very different genre: I would also suggest checking out Cyberpunk Edgerunners before the fall season starts going crazy. It's been absolutely blowing up and there is a severe lack of reactions for it right now. Easily one of the best shows this year.
