Hi Ruff, if you see this I highly recommend watching/reacting to this show once you have time. The animation and music are really well done which makes you feel a part of the show. The would-building may be more subtle than other anime but it is absolutely amazing. You learn some of the politics that run this world, the magic system, architecture, and language. The story is good, it isn't revealed in the beginning but the show does create a mystery worth solving. And the characters are dynamic and real. You see their personalities, desires, and what they are willing to do. You need to know that the family Rudy is in is not perfect. And Rude isn't a moral protagonist which I like and respect a lot. This show makes you feel uncomfortable at times but if that is what you feel then the anime is doing its job. The actions and thoughts Rudy has (him being perverted) and does aren't justified. Rude is a flawed character that needs growth and that makes him real and relatable. A protagonist won't and doesn't have to always make the right moral decision. The scenes in this anime that push the boundary make specific statements and I believe it is incorrect to believe those scenes were made for fan service or to justify/promote discussing behavior. You may not know what I am talking about but I say watch the show and enjoy it. It means a lot to the isekai community and once you finish the 1st season give your critics and mention if it is actually worth it or not.

2022-03-26 14:56:11 +0000 UTCfantastic show, little bit fucked up at times but its never excessive in my opinion and makes sense with the characters and world, animation is beautiful characters are intricate and unique and the world is sick. great watch, it being the "grand father of isekai" makes all the tropes that it popularized feel unique and refreshing.

The scene where Rudy saw Roxys panties and shot his magic is one example (the panty detail wasn’t in the novel) Also end of paragraph spoilers dude 💀

2022-03-26 02:24:03 +0000 UTCplease please please continue this. Yes is controversial and I think the reason why, without spoilers, might hit you more for reasons. The worst episodes are 6 and 8, but after that the terrible stuff kinda falls back to just mostly lewd comments and attempts to peek like most anime. I say this is probably the most 'human' anime I've watched in a while. The protag is not some uber powerful isekai 2nd chance person, you get to see the lowest that he will go, only to see him fight his way out of his own terrible thoughts and PTSD (The trauma and the bad stuff of his past life gets mostly explained in EP 2)

2022-03-26 02:06:55 +0000 UTCControversial... Well that's one way to put it. Most of the protagonist's antics can be chalked up to standard anime pervert-itis, which is to say I can excuse it. Worse happens in DxD, and all I want to do to Issei is the occasional dope slap. However... EDIT: Since people are complaining that it's a spoiler, despite being literally a not at all plot relevant extra that was thrown in to eat time, I'll redact it to "[entirely intentional pedophilia] is crossing the line". To say nothing of the fact that the previous version didn't have enough identifying details to spoil anything more than a minute in advance, but if y'all can't differentiate between legit spoilers and talking so that those who get it get it and those who don't are left wondering, oh well.
