i think you missed what zoro said after luffy uses conqueror's haki. talking about luffy, he said, "if he wasn't at least this strong, i'd have to become the new captain."

You pretty much nailed it, Ruff. Back when we had to wait a whole week for a new episode, the recaps that we've seen before and the repeated scenes before and after the commercials were a bit harder to swallow. it's like, "I waited all this time for a new episode and you're gonna eat up what minutes I have with stock footage!?" You gotta keep in mind, however, that people who would watch this in Japan would do so on broadcast TV with actual commercials during those commercial breaks (much like how we'd watch CSI or Wheel of Fortune), so they gotta do something to get that momentum revved up again after it being broken like that. Of course if you've seen the acid trip that serves as their commercials over there you'd understand. Having said that it is easier when you can binge watch them one after another without having to wait a week for the one coming up, and those flashbacks do serve to help show what's motivating that character at that moment. Of course you have some time before you have to worry about the "tune in next week" problem that we have as we're slowly coming up on episode 1000 which will apparently be airing on November 16. but when you finally do we'll have so much to discuss. For now, however, just have fun with it and we'll enjoy this ride with you.

Interrupting my watch to comment that yeah, I am probably biased on Dressrosa padding because it is one of my favorite arcs, but it is the first anime arc I got to where I had to wait week to week. The manga was in Dressrosa (or close) when I started watching One Piece, and when I caught up to the manga (which I started during my watch through of Marineford), the anime was just halfway through Dressrosa or so. I absolutely think my irritation for the padding came from stalling out to 1 episode a week during something I was so hype for. Okay back to watching your reactions lol

Ruff to answer your question about Robin's ability yes..if someone were to cut her arm that she grew somehwere else it would damage her. Although, I don't know how serious the damage can be. It was first shown in Alabasta when she was guarding the castle front gate with her hands against royal guards one of them cut one of those hands and they all disappeared then showed her flinching grabbing onto her own hand. (I didnt open up all the comments so rip someone already answered it lol, I will still leave it here)
