2021-06-30 04:00:55 +0000 UTCCrazy and understandable how much the incident in ep 1 fucked him up mentally. Really fucked up his perception of the world completely. He can't taste food, and he seems to still see Raphtalia as a little girl, even though she's grown (although that could also be the "parent syndrome" or something). And her words of comfort or encouragement don't seem to get through to him. His ability to trust was absolutely obliterated. Getting it back even the smallest bit might as well be equivalent to bringing the dead back to life.
