I finally gather the courage to watch the reaction, cause in all honesty i love khr but the first episodes make me cringe so bad. And you liked that episode a lot more than i imagine it, at least you had fun. Nothing to say that it wasnt already in the other comments regarding the series. The only thing a would like to add is no one is watching this right now, it is fresh air even if its an old series, khr holds a very special place in my heart and ive been waiting for a remake forever -just like with shaman king and i got that this year- i hope you give it a try. Or 20 lol it really gets super good and has a lot of weird things other series dont experiment with imo

I really love this series. If you're getting into it, be aware that the first arc is really slow, but after that the series really starts to pick up pace and become much more interesting. Also, Easy Go is such a fantastic opening, especially the 2nd version of it (especially if you have watched up to that point and know the characters). Can't get enough of it.

Yeah the first 10-20 episodes arent the best 11 or 12 it starts to get better but its not till 20ish its get good, and even then its still a bit before it gets GOOOOD. Its still alright. There is a point way later where the pacing takes a nose dive sadly as they had caught up to the manga. And while the anime ends on a solid note. The Last Arc wasnt animated sadly. This definitely isnt One Piece levels of good, but by the end is a really good Shounen Anime.

Damn I really do hope you decide to react to the whole thing. Like everyone said, the first 10 or so is just introductions, random repetitive comedy, and then they just do a 180 and go nuts with the story, action, and world building. Definitely in my top 5 favorites.

It has a slow beginning cause there is a lot to explain and a lot of characters that need to be introduced but it give it a try. It's really worth it. One of my all time favorite series. It definitely starts to fast pace after the first 10-20 episodes but they are also extremely important to the story. Looking forward to seeing you react to episode 2!!

This series is amazing BUT, this first season is really not representative of it, it's a shame cause its start as a weird anime that seems to go nowhere to an amazing show, for this show, you have to watch the few first episode to have all the characters introduced, then you can skip ahead to episode 23ish I believe If you don't want those repeated jokes like episodes. AWWWW, I hate to say this about one of my favorite show. I even have the the key items of this show because I was cosplaying Yamamoto Takeshi.

Actually, never mind. Hey, GOOD NEWS ! I just checked the episodes resume, and while episodes 1 through 9 are important in that they introduce new characters, you can then actually skip 10 through 18, and start back at 19 that introduce another character, and then the 'real' first arc begins ! So basically you've got 11 episodes of mostly meh comedy and bad animation, (while following still bland characters 'cause they aren't developed enough yet), and then the real shit begins ! Hooray, that reduces your time of boredom by almost half. (Wish I had known that)

Yeah, definitely a rule of 3 anime, though this is actually more 20 episodes than 3. As it's already been said in other comments, this didn't start as a shonen battle manga. The genre switched after 7 volumes, in the anime they made it 20 episodes that while quirky were quite boring. They needed to do that though, 'cause most of those episodes introduce the characters that we will follow in the arcs that were animated. And then it kicks off, heck, even the art style undergoes major improvements from then on. The power system evolved of course, the world building makes itself known and as the universe expands you discovers its mysteries, and how it all works. Honestly, this series is my childhood, and I'll always be sad that they didn't adapt the last two arcs that for me were the best, in term of stakes and maturity and sheer battle intensity. What I'm happy about though, is that a reactor I enjoy watching is finally reacting to it, so thanks for that Ruff ! I may be biased, but I do think it's a bet worth taking, despite how slow those first 20 episodes are.

This show is in my top 3 anime. First 19 episodes are comedy and character introductions. Episode 20 it starts to change to a sort of battle Shonen. I really hope you give it a chance.

Comments about it being an... odd start... are right. This show is weird, but also fun and full of great action after the first 20 or so episodes! If this ever becomes a series, if suggest reacting to select episodes at the beginning and doing the rest in your own time. Around the early 20s is when reacting should be more consistent.

Hey Ruff, I think you should know this. Originally, the original seven volumes of this manga were comedy manga, and from the eighth volume, it will be changed to battle manga. Therefore, the animation will focus on character descriptions and jokes until the 19th episode, and the story will begin in earnest from episode 20. So I understand why Ruff thinks this anime is odd. lol

Just a warning that Reborn started out as a gag comedy manga before turning into a battle shonen, so the beginning ~15 episodes are pretty slow
