Now, just to clarify ruff. Gon does still have still have his Nen, but like they stated in the manga, since he was turn back to “normal,” he can’t see his aura but his power is still there. He just can’t see it and he also has to pay a price to be able to see it again or have some one people sacrifice their life to exorcise him. Again

Togashi and Oda are equal in my mind its just that one piece has had so much more story time to develop its underlying issues/themes. Both 10/10 series hense why i watch still watch reactions to them. Yours are amoungst the best <3

Incredibly well said. Some people haven't picked up on it, Togashi has spoken to his readers through Ging. Puts everything in to perspective.

the only difference is the 1 chapter and also something that is not much mentioned.. the second test is different. it is separated into to parts.. and I personally always preferred the manga version it just make more sense and is more interesting then the lazy pig hunt of the anime. other then that.. I thin there is some additional text about gyro in the chimera ant arc.

to me a manga doesn't need to have a ending.. if you think about it at some point it is going to stop and for some people they may die before finishing a series to.. its just how life is, we wont get to finish everything we want.. life will always be incomplete at the end.. it doesn't make it less a masterpiece. I think everyone should read berserk because it is so good. and the same goes for hunter x hunter. I would like for it to continue for ever but nothing is. if we were to never start something because it may end abruptly ..we may never start anything. because everything is like that. it is unfortunately one of the only thing that is sure. like they said in hunter x hunter we should enjoy all the little detour.. this is directly Togashi talking to us. saying I may not finish the manga.. but enjoy it anyway. even if it seams more real in that context.. it is the case for everything. the journey is more important then the end.

Same. I love psychology and mental battle battles, self reflection etc in any medium. It makes it more real for me. You should read some Togashi interviews it gives you a deeper insight on what he wanted to do after Yu Yu Hakusho. From chapter 1 you can notice Gon is a little "off" from a standard Shonen MC.

Even though I disagree, especially with the how those series are handled down the line how is Black Clover "way above"? It hasn't down anything out of the ordinary in terms of Shonen and the creator of BC said he was influenced by Togashi. The others I understand (barely) but definitely not BC.

Don't read the manga for one reason, Disappointment that it will never be finished. Personally i thought HxH was just going to keep getting better after a specific reveal (If you know you know) but with the hiatuses it is pretty clear that he will never finish this series. Maybe his wife can but i am not going to hold out hope for that. It is really disappointing to get really really into what is happening just to possibly never know the answer

Gotoh is dead they got one of those shapeshifting creatures from the Hunter Exam so that Killua wouldn't know. The manga is a great experience but really dialogue heavy. You will be fine if you reread the last chapter and go off from there. You can start from scratch and there are loads of cool details, but you didn't watch much. I rank HxH as my number 1 shounen, just because I love the pyschology how dark it can get and most of all I think this is the smartest shounen. One Piece is more emotional, hype and about exploration, I just think HxH is smarter and I prefer that.

I really hope that you will take a look on 99 anime version , specially York shin city arc . It has a dark tone that fits the story (spécially for Kurapika) more than the hype tone that 2011 version provides (it's just my opinion)

I know Ging mentioned that but I think he was wrong, he said he didn't even know the circumstances around Kite and then said I bet it was that. The logical explanation is that strong personalities have survived when their brain was fed to the queen its why a lot of ants had memories of there past lives, I just think Kite was one of those. (another reason would be that Kite's new body was born after Pitou had killed him, it came with the King and it was months after Kites death that would have happened.)

Maaan the feels 😭 I was really sad to watch that anime "end" with Gon actually fulfilling his dream of meeting his father and the other characters pursuing their own paths! I cannot begin to imagine how I would feel in the last episode of One Piece! I would be devastated! For the ranking, One Piece is definitly the 1st for me but HxH is #2! The world is huge and dark, the characters are endearing and complex, the story telling is great! #3 for me would be AOT! No other anime even compares to these top 3 for me! :)

The Kiriko beasts from the Hunter Exam arc! The Zoldyck family is having one of them take the place of Gotoh, because Killua doesn't know that Gotoh's dead, and given Killua's character, he'd probably go after Hisoka. The final montage you saw is basically chapter 339. As others have mentioned, you can start reading at 340. There's a solid 50 or so chapters until you're completely caught up.

For me, One Piece, Attack on Titan, and Black Clover is way above Hunter x Hunter. Maybe even Jojo's. But yeah, unless it comes back (and I don't think it ever will), I don't see HxH cracking the Top 3. With Jojo's Part 6 being animated, I can't even see it being #4. But I can give it a solid #5. HxH is a masterpiece.

The hype surrounding the "New World" aka Dark Continent has the potential to surpass the craziness that is the "Gourmet World" in Toriko. I believe there hasn't been a New World exploration better since Toriko and HxH set up might be just as good.

NOT A SPOILER i believe the manga continous with kurapika and the other characters... i think gons's storyline end here. Of course he is pretty much a kid and has life ahead of him but i dont believe he is the main character anymore. again, i havent read the manga so i have absolutely no idea it this is true or not, however, it would explain this wraped up ending we just had. It feels just like the end of a cicle and we are about to start a new one with new characters and new places

Very great reaction! The volume is #32 aka chapter 340 after the anime. Getting all the volumes is very tedious and takes a long time to do because of the lack of frequent reprints so it would be best to start the next arc online and re-read the series down the road. Love the next arc and hope you will react to it but you do whatever is best for you.

The Hunter x Hunter anime ends off at chapter 339 and the manga carries on until chapter 390. The anime is pretty loyal to the manga though the manga imo being slightly better, it shows more gore and it's closer to what Togash actually wanted. However, there aren't really anymore "new" scenes (apart the Kite one in chapter 1) in the manga so the choice is up to you really. If you don't have much time just start reading from 340 and if you do have a bit of time I'd recommend reading from the beginning up to the end of the manga.

Manga begins at 340 and it starts crazy and never lets up. I feel HxH is amazing on a reread/re-watch as you catch so many things you miss initially or re-frame a lot of dialog and scenes. So I always recommended rereading or watching the entire thing but also want to see manga reactions as soon as possible. Live streaming on Twitch would be cool so we could talk about the chapters as you're reading them.

Regarding Goto: Goto definitely died. Just before the Hunter exam; Gon, Kurapika and Leorio meet Kiriko beasts which can transform into human form. Shape shifters. Killua too meets them when he goes to take his Hunter exam for the second time. In the panel where the Kiriko beast transforms into Goto, they show Killua talking to them. May be Killua asked one of them to fill in for Goto as Goto. ( as to the reason why.. I don’t know either). So, Goto is dead and the Kiriko beast; transformed as Goto; will be the butler of Zoldic family, i guess.

Regarding Kite: Ging says to Gon that Kite’s crazy slot shows a number only when Kite is determined not to die in an otherwise hopeless situation. It may be that, this number makes kite’s Nen wrap Kite’s soul and memories and transfer them into another body. If you remember when Kite’s friends talk about Kite to Gon initially, they say that Kite himself didn’t know where he came from. So probably, the previous Kite was also a reincarnated form of the original Kite (whom we know nothing about).
