2023 Review

Woah… another year wrapped up and in a few hours we’ll be in the new year. I hope everyone is doing well and able to celebrate in your own way. Sending hugs and best wishes to you all.

This is a great opportunity for me to look back at this year - personally, artistically and professionally .

Whilst 2023 was really challenging for me, I felt my artistic growth and expression reach a new level. I found it to be the year of experimentation and discovery. A chance to try new things and understand what I really wanted to do as a creator. Growing a community and finding new ways to tell stories was such an important goal and the introduction of comics was a really fun challenge. I write challenge as it was really difficult 😂 I underestimated the complexity involved with making comics but I found a new love and appreciation to the craft. I look to expand on this further and make comics more regular in 2024.

I want to mention community as I feel as this little queer, safe bubble has expanded with the joy of discord and the many interactions I’ve had within the platform. With the way social media is going I find it even more exciting to have my own space to share work and interact with you all. I appreciate everyone who interacts with my work and supports me! Reading a comment or seeing a reaction or getting a lovely message or meme makes my day and it means everything to me.

This brings me onto my main point. The gratitude and appreciation I have for every single person that has supported me. You all allow me to do what I love and everyone has been so sweet and kind.

2024 is an opportunity for me to expand on everything that I want to do with my art. To experiment more and create the content that makes me happy. I have no roadmap, no schedule but the plan is to wrap up the small 8 page comic I started and then use the learning curve to be able to plan and execute comics more effectively so I can consistently output my comics. I also want to make more characters and tell more stories whilst also getting to delve deeper into the lives of Nina and Isaac. I love fantasy and want to tell a few stories in a fantasy world so maybe I can squeeze that in. Who knows. I just can’t wait to get creating more for you all.
