Yes, he was always great with the Pearson's, what we always saw was someone who loved that family more than anything. And we saw him upset over his relationship with his family and eventually try to get in touch with them, but what about before that? I think you get to a point after a while where you just don't want to give anymore chances because you've been let down so much, and I think that's where his son was. They had a father who was clearly pretty absent, seemed to care more about his friends' family than them. This doesn't make him a bad person or anything, just a human who made mistakes. But I don't think it's fair to invalidate his family's experience, because we didn't get to see their side.
