Added 2025-08-24 17:17:08 +0000 UTCAnother week, another batch of chapters! Again, I'll be at the upcoming Dragoncon, mostly wandering around and learning since it'll be my first time attending. I'm working madly on the next chapters now so that the posting schedule continues to go uninterrupted while I'm there, plus I'm bringing along a new writing laptop. The words must flow! I haven't missed a chapter in a full year and a half of posting, and don't intend to. Hope everyone's week is going well!

I have a ton of thoughts on it, but I'll summarize a few. I think it's an interesting genre, and I also think because of how it's fresh and evolving, there's a lot of neat things to explore in that area. Much like SFF in its early years, there's also lot of room for the genre to improve. DCC has done a great job showing what great litrpg looks like, and I think we're still waiting for more stories to rise to that level. It's also heavily tied to progression fantasy, with most examples of progression fantasy being litrpg, so right now I'm trying to catch up on a lot of the litrpg stories people have said are best and study them to improve my own craft. It's definitely something I'm exploring, though I like litrpg-lite rather than the crunch-heavy stories. I'm also less enamored with pure-progression stories that don't have much of a plot. I have that same problem with a lot of literary fiction I've tried--if there's not a strong through-line that's piqued my interest, I find it hard to continue reading.
