Oh to be a priest accidentally picking up a young hustler.
It was common* to ask a hustler if they wanted to get a coffee, if both parties show interest via eye contact etc. I assume because it makes it harder to get caught by the police, if you're not arranging prices/location out in the street.
Fashion wise...I'm not sure if flares were Out out in 1980, but I thought it would be cute. They should go shopping...

[regent palace hotel was a common location for swers to take clients- I'm using Piccadilly as the location here, because I've been reading a book about dilly boys and the meat rack, and its nice to be accurate.... yeah I fell into the research hole I said I wouldn't fall into. I even went so far as finding a photo of the hotel on facebook and scrolling through all the nostalgia comments until I found these ;;

And yeah I know it doesn't matter for a throwaway location :) but I couldn't just Make One Up! :) [help me]
(kelly green is the hanky code colour for hustler)
*common at least in the Piccadilly scene at the time
