FF15 Misunderstanding

"Please, just Luna is fine."

Nothing is fine. 

I had seen a tiktok once about faces where when someone is being dishonest one side of their face will reveal their true feelings so 8D while I think Prompto looks totally insincere here - its worse when you cover his right side.

I also had like 2 follow up scenarios in mind for this.

First of all I imagine Prompto was purposefully sent to get Noctis because Luna and Nocts reunion was anticipated to be intimate - maybe whoever sent him was hoping it would be MORE intimate but they don't realise Noct and Luna dont plan to be more than friends.

Either way the damage is done because it has made Prompto painfully aware that Noct has a duty and a BEAUTIFUL duty at that so whats he even playing at thinking he has a chance with Noctis.

And honestly its pretty selfish of him to expect Noctis to forsake the country for him.

I was also imagining it wouls really trigger his insecurities and feelings of not being good enough so he would go 'okay, I need to be the best supporting character here and mould myself into this new role.'

So the 2 scenarios

One played out as Noctis and him arguing - in this situation they would probably have something going on and Noct is just confused - he's ALLOWED to hug people especially his friends and Prompto cant expect him NOT to be affectionate with his friends. He's right absolutely but he's bulldozing over Proms feelings and concerns rather than reassuring him.

He just got defensive when Prom was calling him out and it blew up.

Im my minds eye i saw this as like a person standing on a roadside looking in the window of a house and seeing 2 people animatedly arguing.

Prom and he take a break that neither of them want. Noctis is starting to realise it was high tempers and things being said that shouldnt while Prompto is retreating inside himself as his worst fears are all being realised. He's important to Noct but he's not always the most important.

Not a healthy way to think either but he is very insecure so the break will probably be a good thing.

Scenario 2 is Prompto who probably had been staying with Noct 5 out of 7 nights in the week because they'd be up so late playing games or talking there was no need for him to make his way home and it wasnt a great time to do so anyway.

Probably withdraws to a respectable distance and he's still Noct's best friend but he's probably taken on more of a subservient role like Ignis'.

Noctis isnt sure whats gone wrong but everything feels off and despite his attempts to breach the distance nothing works

Both situations I imagine Luna reaching out to prompto because even immediately after this scene she knows its been misunderstood - she's a bit more emotionally aware than either of the dumb boys and she say the lack of sincerity on Proms face - how he paled and stammered. Shes probably used to the various different reactions she gets when meeting people and this wasnt the usual starstruck stuttering - it was 'I've been caught totally off guard and my heart might be breaking'

Noctis will also probably overhear someone discussing Prompto having being sent with this whole intent for him to misunderstand and he's FURIOUS. Depending on who did it, I don't want to villainise Ignis - I think Ignis could maybe have been talked into sending Prom under that similar guise of 'Ignis it's your duty to keep Noctis on the right path. The path he's currently on is not.....good' Thats the only way I would see it being Ignis having a part and in that situation  he's just as manipulated.

There's higher powers at play and once Noctis finds out their days are numbered as members of the court.

Of course there will be a happy ending where Prom is reassured - he's fully explained that Luna and he are just friends - will PROBABLY have to get married and pop out a baby at some point in the future but they both plan to have lovers and relationships of their own - shes also interested in someone else.

So takes a bit but - Happily ever after (if its canon divergent 8D)
