Sketchbook update 75

As usual I've tried to organise it in a way that the exclusive stuff is at the start, but I like to include the stuff I've made and posted publicly because it's a nice archive for me :P. As always I think 'I cant make a sketchbook update, I don't have enough' and then I realise it's WAY too big actually...

Lots of diary-type things in my traditional sketches, I hope people don't mind haha! Also a lot of kid drawings because it's comforting and I'm still struggling with ...gestures at everything.

I did a couple of colour studies because I always struggle with colouring clothes, trying to figure out what matches, and how to make it cohesive but not over the top etc! It's funny because obviously in real life its fairly simple, but in paintings you have to think about...the lighting, I suppose? The ambient colour? How like...if someone was wearing blue and red they would look different depending on the setting- but they change together and it will always be cohesive. When you're picking those colours for a painting it's something that has to be done manually? So I often accidentally choose colours and it just...looks bad, as though they belong in different rooms haha!

With that pastel Halsin+Astarion piece I absolutely flopped on colouring, I loved how astarion was turning out but I could NOT figure out halsins clothes or the bedsheet colour...so I lowered the opacity to make it pastel and pretended it was on purpose. I definitely need to practice more! I want to focus more on colour to improve it, but it's hard to decide between monochrome and quantity, or colour and quality! I love storytelling so usually quantity wins.

I actually have a couple of sfw drawings of my nsfw characters that I posted on my twitter- but I think I'll wait and make their own post once I draw some more, since this is long enough!
