FF15 Exhaustion

Oh my god YES I have thought so much about this!! I've always loved the idea that particularly Gladio and Ignis are very aware of the social issues that normal people face (Ignis in particular, given his position), but that it's all kind of... academic. Ignis takes his duty as an advisor (and decent human being) very seriously so he is absolutely the first one to be doing all the reading and familiarising himself with issues that Lucian citizens face, because one day Noct will be king and it's his job to help. And that's all great, but I don't think he or Gladio are actually aware of just how privileged they are. So there's probably a lil bit of complacence there, and possibly even sometimes...a tiny lil bit of subconscious snobbery/ignorance. So when Prompto comes along, maybe the older two sometimes get irritated at the way Prompto does certain things/give him blank stares that make him feel like an outsider, because for all they're good people who treat him well, what do they actually know about having to choose between having lunch out with Noct or paying bills? Omg please stop me I could talk all day

YES - to everything you said. thats how i see them too! Like they would be slow to accept Prompto because they've been quite sheltered in the citadel so they honestly probably don't even realise the privilege that they have intil they're faced with a 'commoner' Like - is there life hard - absolutely but are they also very protected and well off, also yes. Gladio trains and studies and thats where his focus can stop. Similarly Ignis acts as Nocts advisor though he's also still learnign and he studies. Everything around them just falls into place. Bills? Paid. Luxuries up to their eyeballs so much so they probably dont fully comprehend what things cost outside their bubble. UGH I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS. Thank you so much!

I absolutely adore your pre-roadtrip boys! I have such a weak spot for this soft time period anyway, but the way you capture the slightly awkward relationship between Prom and Ignis and Gladio is absolute chef kiss material. You really manage to get across Prompto's desire to be accepted and loved by the older boys, but also that distance he placed between them because...who wouldn't be intimidated by them tbh? I love love love younger Gladio's faces in these scenarios. There's concern there, but it's covered by that slightly brash, masculine 'noct, what is he doing, I don't know what to do with this' helplessness and it's just amazing and so them ♥️♥️
