Maybe theres some kind of ritual that can be performed to bind it to Stiles
So it cant be stolen from him
Because until then he becomes a target
But if its bound to his soul they cant take it from him it only works for him
It gives off an energy and thats what the person followed
Then they couldnt find it so theyre like 'maybe its someone he was in contact with'
They'll inevitably realise he was hiding it
So Dereks like 'youre staying with me until this is sorted'
Maybe they need to travel to the person who can do the ritual
which doubles as getting Stiles out of there
