i kind of imagine this is WoR
and Ignis is not coping well yet with his loss of vision
and every mistake and slip up feels so much bigger
Prompto is like 'y-yeah of course, I made you some coffee...will i leave it here?'
i imagined Prom being like
'A-are you sure there's nothing I can do?'
'Are you Noctis?'
'Uh..'
'Then no.'
There's probably been a lot of these little outbursts and Prompto's hovering and trying to help has not helped
It's just making Ignis more aware of how much he can't do anymore.
And if he's honest he's probably a little angry that he took a hit for nothing it seems.
He also never actually SAW Prompto like the others did after Zegnautus so he probably doesn't fully understand what Prompto went through.
Prompto can see that he's not helping matters so maybe he needs to give Iggy some space
It feels a little like running away but he can justify it by telling himself he's doing Ignis a favour but removing his annoying self from the picture.
It's also the turning point for Ignis because he goes to apologise to Prompto the next morning and he's going and when he goes to call him to apologise he finds the voicemail from Prompto letting him know he's going to swing by Hammerhead for a while and help out.
So Ignis tries to call him and it goes unanswered so he decides he's goign to improve and he WILL apologise to Prompto properly in person soon.
He calls Gladio - he wants to start training again.
Probably seeks the help of someone in a similar situation to him and yes, he gets his shit together.
