Weekly Update - 260 - 3/3/25

Still alive, I suppose! And back in it with the comic-making.

Made good progress last week despite everything. Finished the casino art, finished Kiera's character page (it's not up yet, waiting on the husband to work his code magic) even nearly done with my half of Kiaun's art trade. Got a pretty good start on Page 221 as well.

Something I've been pondering a bit lately is a part of writing I've never been very good at: brevity. So... in the upcoming pages, you might expect to see slightly less dialogue than you're used to as I try to find out how to tease out dialogue that's perhaps on the average more meaningful and more memorable with less words.

If you want to help me out with this, let me know some of your most memorable lines from the comic so far in the comments below! I have a feeling there aren't many, but I'm curious if there's any that have stuck out to people that I'm unaware of.

One last thing I do want to mention, I've been having some serious thoughts about restructuring our discord server. I had a whole big post written up that I was gonna do separately, but I kinda want to float some ideas out there first and hear what y'all think. I'm having the sort of thoughts where I'm pretty sure I don't like what it is currently, and I don't know what it should be in the future. We've got some decent people in there, and I've enjoyed meeting and chatting with a fair few of you as well, but as time goes on I feel like it's not doing... what it should be doing. And I don't know what it should be doing. What do YOU want it to be?

My instinct is to burn it all down and rebuild from scratch, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, but... to be honest, that is my instinct for nearly everything these days, which I'm sure has nothing at all to do with any current goings on. I want to get some more opinions before I do anything too drastic, but I do think it's a bit overdue for a restructuring.

So I want to hear from you and get some of your thoughts on this. What do you think our Discord server should be? What should it become? And what are some ways we might better facilitate the future of a healthy community space?
