Weekly Update - 258 - 2/17/25

What an interesting week.

So I've been chatting with Kiaun lately, the creator of the Derideal comic series. We traded site links, so each of our sites now links to each other's comic. That should hopefully generate a little more traffic for both. I hooked him up with one of my contacts at Fenris Publishing to hopefully help him get some books printed and selling cuz I think they'd do really well. Kiaun was then generous enough to design a frikking LOGO for my comic because I mentioned that I don't have a logo. And then he just did not one logo but like, all kinds of versions! Because it turns out he's got a background in graphic design. Which... omg is awesome and I love them! Lastly I agreed to do an art trade! I'm gonna draw his character Ivory and I think he wants to draw Kiera.

So... yeah! Kiaun is awesome and I hope to learn all I can from him because he seems to really know what he's doing!

Ugh, but listen to me, this is my excited voice. Swapping to professionalism mode now.

I do want to address, we removed the "Lore" page on the main God Slayers site in order to swap it out for a "Links" page, which, yeah, currently only has the one thing on it but I hope to expand it over time. So Derideal won't be the only comic linked from there. The lore page was removed because it was unfinished and starting to get a little out of date and I had no plans to expand it because 100% of the worldbuilding I'm doing now is going into the TTRPG.

To make up for it, what I'm considering is taking all of that TTRPG worldbuilding, which is canon to the series (and maybe a little spoiler-y?) and compiling it into a separate document that'll just be for lore enthusiasts, which will then be made available here on Patreon. The TTRPG is coming along nicely though, playtests continue going well. I have a deceptively short list of rather involved tasks I have left to do to release it for Alpha. And... OH. I also started work on a little bit of a prettier character sheet for the game's eventual release. It's in the preview above. Love to hear some feedback on it, whether you've played the game or not, because I continue to have no idea what I'm doing. When it's done I'd like to make it into an editable PDF version as well.

Comic this week? No. As excited as I am to draw the next couple of pages, my art queue has suddenly gotten big and I need to pair it down some first.

Playing: Mostly drawing and/or writing, but if I need a break I'll probably continue Cyberpunk 2077.
