Obsessing over: 40k lore

Wtf?: Well I've always wanted to learn more about 40k, the two correct factions especially, because while it never really interested me in my youth, it remains one of those older source IPs that is the inspiration behind a great many things that I loved as a kid.

Now, hopefully nobody takes me too seriously when I make a silly statement about there being any "correct" factions in 40k, because I think it is quite plain that they are all horrible, but I am curious, anyone willing to guess which two factions I'm referring to?
