Twilight Solstice - 2018
Added 2018-12-01 20:06:04 +0000 UTCIt's easy for me to forget you guys haven't actually MET Max in the comic yet, but he will be making his debut very soon in the early part of Chapter 2.
In Kuserra, there's one day a year where the sun never quite comes up all the way above the mountains and buildings, so it's more of a prolonged day of twilight, celebrated as the Twilight Solstice. It's customary to exchange gifts on this day with family and loved ones, in part due to the crepuscular nature of most of Kuserra's residents feeling more generous and productive at this time of year, and in part because it's difficult to have a holiday time analogue in a fictional setting that doesn't involve gift-giving in some form.
Max is one of the city's more generous residents, and he absolutely wouldn't pass up this opportunity to deliver a gift to his favorite person in the entire world. Kiva doesn't look too thrilled about it though.

I think Kiva deep down really likes it but isnβt certain if he should like it as much π. Though you, his creator, would know best π. Thanks for doing great art, a bang-up job and smashing it out of the park. I canβt wait for chapter two
