Themed Months
Added 2018-10-09 17:29:37 +0000 UTCHi all, I want to discuss something a little bit, so here's a few questions related to the discussion.
First, I want to start doing other months similar to OC-only months, where all characters are going to be limited to a certain subsets like "video game girls" or "cartoon girls". What would you recommend our subsets to be?
Second, related to the First, seeing how MLP seems to be represented heavily in the results, we can also do "franchise months" where a single franchise with a similarly extreme amount of characters would get featured on its own. Which franchises would you feel would be a good fit for something like this?
Third, I would like your input on how often I should schedule months like this.

I think a mix is good. I'm pretty sure, you're tired of drawing ponies all the time. lol

2018-10-14 04:17:30 +0000 UTCAs long as it's not humans or feral stuff, I am good with pretty much anything.

2018-10-10 13:40:00 +0000 UTCI'd be more interested in themes by content, i.e. "girls with big breasts" or "action girls" or "fighting girls."
2018-10-10 01:11:12 +0000 UTCI'd absolutely love a "humans/humanized" theme month! As far as franchises go, I see people have suggested Disney. It might be worthwhile to break such a large property holder down by categories like "Classic Disney", "Disney Movies", "Disney Afternoon", "Disney XD", etc. That way you can really hit a particular "zone" and make the theme really resonate.

2018-10-10 00:54:59 +0000 UTCI would like to see more non-pony characters get drawn, so having more themed months might be a good idea. I would say not to do it more then every couple of months though. Personally I'm hoping to get into the next OC month.

2018-10-09 22:38:57 +0000 UTCWhile I like the idea of picking a themed month, keeping it franchise centric may be a bit of a problem. While I may not be a fan or one or several characters elected in a month, I know overall there will be at least one I like or a series of edits I really appreciate. BUT if its a franchise I don't care for its basically an entire month of artwork I'm not going to like... I think there's a lot of possibility to a wider theme though like games though

2018-10-09 21:56:59 +0000 UTCA month of Disney cartoon characters (from Talespin, Goofy Movie, etc.) would be VERY cool ^^

2018-10-09 20:31:14 +0000 UTCAlot of us are mainly here for the ponies, ill agree with unknown on that one, perhaps you should have a poll to see what everyone thinks.
2018-10-09 19:27:35 +0000 UTCI mean, I'm here for ponies. Ideally the "break" months would be few and far between.

2018-10-09 18:44:25 +0000 UTCVideo game girls and cartoon girls are both subsets I can very much get behind. Might even be worth subdividing (Capcom/Nintendo/Sega or Disney/Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network). Might even be worth having a month for characters from books - provided you're happy working with less in the way of references. As for frequency, every third month?

2018-10-09 18:22:56 +0000 UTCThis is a pretty good idea, I think, since each of the major genre categories have such huge catalogues of characters.

2018-10-09 18:19:47 +0000 UTCI like both of these ideas. While I did join for your MLP art, I'm kind of excited to see what you can do with other things. I won't say too much regarding the subsets, as others have already elaborated on that, but I would suggest maybe keeping them broad in scope, such as comic book characters, video game characters, cartoon characters, anime characters, etc. I would like to suggest, as a franchise option, RWBY. There are a wealth of great characters and it's only getting more popular. I would love to see RWBY characters drawn by you.

2018-10-09 18:15:29 +0000 UTCI'm up for anything that gets more variety, really. I don't really have much interest in shows though, so it's really up to you how you do it.

2018-10-09 18:05:01 +0000 UTCMaybe alternate monthly between human characters (mix of anime, cartoon, video games), non human from shows (so like from cartoons and animes), and non human from video games. I think this way you can focus on certain groups of characters while still giving decent options. And under each months poll people also leave suggestions for characters/franchises to be put on the next months roster. So as an example, leys say the current months roster shoes different human characters and we vote which ones should be drawn, but we also leave suggestions for non human characters from video games that we want to see on the next months voting roster.

2018-10-09 17:51:04 +0000 UTCSounds kinda hard to narrow down. I guess you could sum it as Games, Eastern Animation, and Western Animation. As for Franchises, Pokemon, Digimon, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Disney Furs in general, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, Okami. Just to throw something out there

2018-10-09 17:46:57 +0000 UTCConcering franchises there sure are lots of female pokemon trainers if straight up "humans" are a thing you'd like to do. Same with overwatch, street fighter or general superhero character-pools. Besides that there sure are lot of possible characters in the warcraft lore and/or world. Thinking of Draenei, Tauren, Worgen...even Pandaren? Just brainstorming here Edit: Oh and kinda personally I'd love to see your take on One Piece or Kill la Kill characters

2018-10-09 17:41:34 +0000 UTCI would say set a vote for a quarter, the theme is general for the quarter, games or movies for example. Then have us vote for the theme, then from that you can specify. Gives more interaction, and more idea potential.

2018-10-09 17:40:27 +0000 UTCYou could do a 90s cartoon girls subset. You could even break that up by type of show (superhero, Disney, etc.)

2018-10-09 17:38:43 +0000 UTCAll I could think of at the moment. :/

2018-10-09 17:35:38 +0000 UTCthat's a very specific subset :V
