I agree with you! While I was watching the film I was reflecting back on the earlier scenes with Elmer Fudd and again with Andrew when he’s talking about tune and tempo. Although I totally disagree with how he handled those situations, I realized what he was doing was trying to make them confident in their answer. Fletcher knew who was out of tune but yet he picked on Elmer because he did look guilty and he wasn’t sure if he was the out of tune player. I’d imagine that if Elmer confidently answered he wouldn’t have been yelled at (or at least to that extent). It was interesting to hear Fletchers perspective during the jazz club scene and I really liked what he said about the “good job”, I feel like that can be true in sense where if you’re not receiving constructive criticism it’s just always “good job” then why do you need to work harder or get better. But with how he teaches, definitely not acceptable. You can only push a person so much before they reach their breaking point just like the last student who died. Yess, when he brought Connolly in and chose him as the core, I had a feeling it was just so that Andrew can work harder. The scene with the three drummers in rotation until 2am was actually insane and there I also saw that Fletcher was really pushing for Andrew to get it right. The ending music sequence and the back and forth shots between Fletcher and Andrew were brilliant. JK Simmons absolutely smashed his role, I would definitely watch this film again!!

That doesn't mean it is right but he sees something about Andrew and tried to push and stress him to get the best of him in a negative way! which pays off at the end ( which is in my opinion one of the best endings in movie history) J.K. Simmons pull off one of the best performance and I think he is the one which make this movie great Amazing reaction I really enjoyed it
