I do understand it might seem like I'm jumping the gun on a problem that isn't really there yet, but it is more about ethics for me than anything. The conversation was really helpful for me, and I've come up with more of a set idea of how we will do things going forward.
I will be including the show audio in the reactions and will only be cutting out the visuals. So, you guys can sync up your own show visuals and match it up with my audio. I will also include a timer in future videos and show the first ten or so seconds of visuals to hopefully help you get synced up.
Some more good news when it comes to taking this route is that I will be going back and re uploading all of my past full length reactions with a black box over the videos, so we won't have to just rid of those videos completely! I'll still keep the videos that are already uploaded available with the show visuals through the end of the month before making that change.

She also had negative comments about the change like here, but that was months ago and she's going strong with over 1000 patrons. So it's really not a problem.

I have purchased every season of GOT on Blu-Ray disc, so there is no ethics problem sharing the complete episode with me, the same goes for anyone who has purchased a digital copy or a stream of the entire series. Make signing up for a tier that has your reaction to the full version contingent on the viewer legally owning their own copy and that puts the ethics on them, not you.
2020-09-13 20:20:09 +0000 UTCSomeone has misinformed you if they have said the audio does not have copyright on it. HBO just lets you use more of it (not all of it) as fair use than the visuals. The music is also copy-written, and not by HBO. So if it is about the ethics then you will need to rethink your strategy.

Could you contact them and find out how they have avoided the problem you are trying to avoid. I hope they can help you because what you are describing is not workable for me.

2020-09-13 19:52:03 +0000 UTCIm not quite sure who came up with that but Audio is still part of the Copyright and you could still be striked for it. Easiest Way i can suggest is blur the Video, cut the Audio and all will be fine.
