In my case, I used the artists 'Inhuman Law Enforcement' badge from a t-shirt, and placed it on one side of a coffee mug and "Defending the right to bite" on the other. It made my purchase more personal. Ive only been on the buying end, so I don't know about earnings or costs are for the artist, so maybe it is a fail from your perspective.
