Samus and the boombox, page 1 sketch

Of course its mostly set up for the fun parts, but Id argue set up is one of the more important parts when one is making an expansion story of some kind. Ive already posted what will be page 3, so we have an idea how big she will get, but for page 2 it will be all about the prosess.
Question is, who gave samus this mission? Did they know what samus was going to find? Did they hope that something would happen?
