“Sorry Sam, but you know I can’t let you go out alone until you’re 16.“ Sam grumbles in his scarf at Matze’s words. Matze seems truly sorry. Sam isn’t one to ask often to go out, especially not on his own.
“Is there a problem?” That voice. Sam’s heart slides out of place. He’s always too slow to react so Matze answers instead. “Sam wants to go to the city. If you want to join him …”
Jascha plays off his nice side, casually walking up to them with his hands in the pockets of his pants. “Yeah, sure. Why not.” He smiles at Sam. “If it’s ok for you.”
Sam can barely look him in the eyes. He clings tightly to his skateboard under his arm.
“Sure.”
