Powerhouse Exercises for Guitar & Vocals!

Hello friends,

and welcome back to Swift Guitar Lessons! In today's session I'll be breaking down how I use major arpeggios to develop my guitar and vocal technique. We'll practice three different exercises that are guaranteed to develop your finger dexterity, picking accuracy, and your vocal range and pitch. Let's get started!

Which guitar brand are you playing?

De rien Christian!

Thanks Greg, this one was a lot of fun. I have some cool lesson plans for the week ahead, so keep a look out!

Thanks Mark, the main component to making progress as a singer is consistency. Hit it every single day and you’ll be very surprised by how far you’ve come. Ive seen so many students go from ground zero to being able to really perform well. Have fun!

No problem, and trust me I’ve been there. Its so easy to expect too much too soon from your voice. It’s a lot like going to the gym, it takes several weeks to see results, but the good news is that progress is quite measurable.

très belles exercises pour moi, merci!

Christian Harvey

Thanks for responding and for the strategy, Rob. I'll give it a try, although these pipes have a lot of rust!

Thanks Dawn. Absolutely, everything is a gradual process, so you can do one of two things. First, if you can’t reach a note with your full voice, you can move into your falsetto, also known as your head voice instead. If your head voice is also limited, then I would recommend just going through the scale as far as you can, and try pushing yourself each day to go one step higher. Your range can expand, but only by gently pushing yourself.

This is terrific, Rob. Something that ties everything together. There's so much interesting info here as always. If when practicing the singing aspects, if you can't reach certain notes because they are out of your range, is there a way to address that? Thanks again for more cool learning.

Another great lesson!!! Thank you Rob!!

Great lesson. Will include in my practice routine.
