Easy Guitar Songs "Rivers of Babylon" Sublime, Melodians, Boney M

Hello friends,

And welcome to another beginner friendly song tutorial. In today's lesson I'll break down one of the very first songs I learned, the Sublime version of the Melodians 1970 classic "Rivers of Babylon." This simple, three chord tune has a lot to teach, as we work to combine common strumming techniques, percussive elements, and major pentatonic licks. Let's get started!

I believe the Melodeons' original lyric in that spot was probably "For I and I." The phrase "I and I" is commonly used in place of "We" or "Us" in Rastafarian lingo.

Any chance of doing Personal Jesus, the Johnny Cash version please

Hey Rob, could give us a lesson on "Can't find my way home"

Hi Rob, any chance to do Personal Jesus the Johnny Cash version, please

Would love to see a series of lessons, each one focusing on a different blues groove.

Sorry to hear that Bill, what device are you using?

I need some help I can't get the tabs to download

Another great cover of this song was on Steve Earle's 1995 album "Train A' Comin'" -- an album full of great songs and tasty acoustic guitar.
