Thanks Rob great lesson first time I've seen it played all the way through, I now know what goes where *****

Thanks Rob. I love your lessons!

Great lesson, Rob. I'm progressing well but if anyone can help me out with a question on the extended finger picking I'd really appreciate it. For: double, down/up, root up/down...are the down/up and up/down done on the G string or is it G and B (down on G, up on B/up on B, down on G)? I've watched the Blackbird video over and over again but still can't make it out. Thanks!

Always liked this song but felt it was too difficult to play. Got interested again when I learn recently that some of the chords of this song influenced the intro of “Baby I Love Your Way” by Peter Frampton. Since I am sort of new here, I am glad to find that you covered it in the past. Again, your teaching style makes it clear and easy to understand ...plus gives hope and makes me play without fear. Thank you Mr. Swift.

Hi Rob, the tab hasn't been updated though has it, I agree Open D string and B string fret 1 sounds better. I think there is a second Error in the same verse at Eb, in the last bar the bass is shown as 7 and it should be 6?

Pete Markovic

finally there gotta work on tempo thanks suggestion Rocky Racoon thanks.

Look forward to mastering this song. Thanks

Interesting Dirk, I'll have to check that out and consider it as an option for future lessons. Thanks!

Rob, you really sound like Paul! Nice lesson, BTW - on the C to C# dim and D to D#dim, instead of swapping index tip from fifth to first string, I use a "trap" of the first string on the #dim pinches with the flesh of the third joint of the index finger. Paul does it your way in videos (the "right way" :) , but I've had several students prefer the trap method. There is less movement of the index finger, and thus less chance for misplacement of the index when playing the #dim pinches. The trap is actually quite easy for them to get.

Always a pleasure, your fingerpicking technique must be getting good, keep up the practice!

Great lesson, thank you!

Wow, never noticed that before, watched a video of Paul just now and you appear to be right, I stand gleefully corrected! That means the actual chord being suggested is D7. I like the song even better now!

At the end of the verse Am7 you have A string open and B string 1, should it not be D string open and B string 1 ? It sure sounds like that on the album

all ears Scott!

Rob, The Tab for Blackbird...I have a question
