This page is here to illustrate that Carmen falling into that bad luck potion last page has had negative consequences, affecting all aspects of her daily life.
The paneling was changed a bit from the script to the page, to make everything flow better. The first panel was also changed to combine panels 1 and 2 in the script, serving to both establish the scene (and show Carmen specifically going to class, which wasn't mentioned in the script) and make everything flow a bit better.
