There's a wide range between quirky, slapstick, spoof, action, raunchy, coming-of-age, etc.. For "lighthearted", you could go: "Kindergarden Cop" (Schwarzenegger in one of his best roles) "Major Payne" (Damon Wayans in his personal best) "Tommy Boy" (best David Spade & Chris Farley team-up) "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" (Steve Martin and John Candy) "Office Space" (critical classic, must-watch in your lifetime)
