[Frog] Chapter 384: Rejected Again
Added 2025-03-22 05:29:04 +0000 UTCAlan started imagining—if he stayed on Sovereign for too long, would his skin eventually turn just as golden and radiant as theirs?
"What?"
Ayesha regained a bit of her composure. She was more than happy to hear Alan praise the Sovereign.
After all, their cloning technology was their greatest pride.
Every Sovereign was assigned a role at birth—destined to be the best at what they did, without a single flaw.
"It means I’m not interested. It’s getting late—you should all head back to your planet now."
Alan didn’t want to waste any more time with Ayesha.
Thinking about Thanos, he figured he should be warning her instead of entertaining such pointless conversations.
Rather than indulging in delusional ideas, it would be better to prepare for an inevitable battle—
One that would lighten the burden on Hela and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
After all, the Sovereign's drone technology was famous.
If they could repel the Chitauri fleet before they even got close, that would be a significant advantage.
Are you kicking me out?!"
As High Priestess, Ayesha had never experienced being dismissed before.
Her expression was filled with disbelief—
Not only had her invitation been rejected, but now she was being told to leave?
"Just hear me out first, Ayesha."
Alan stood up.
Ayesha instinctively stepped back, feeling slightly uneasy.
The words and decisions of Emperor Knight had far exceeded what she could comprehend.
"...Go ahead," she said stiffly.
Though every instinct told her to turn around and leave, Alan's serious tone forced her to stay and listen.
Perhaps, after this conversation, she would never set foot on Earth again.
"You’ve heard of Thanos, haven’t you?"
Alan’s voice was calm but heavy.
"His ambitions are growing clearer by the day. Every planet he sets foot on... meets the same fate—total slaughter."
Alan suspected that since Thanos hadn't acquired all the Stones yet, his desperation would only escalate.
And given how advanced Sovereign’s technology was, it wasn’t hard to imagine Thanos targeting their planet.
The moment Alan mentioned Thanos, a flash of disgust appeared in Ayesha’s eyes.
She despised mindless killers like him.
"Are you trying to warn me... that Thanos might come for Sovereign?"
Ayesha might be petty, but she wasn’t stupid.
There was no reason for Emperor Knight to bring up that madman out of nowhere.
If he mentioned Thanos at a time like this, it meant something.
No one could predict where Thanos would strike next.
"There’s a high probability," Alan said softly.
"Sovereign's technology is renowned throughout the galaxy. If Thanos truly intends to fulfill his ambitions, there’s a strong chance he will take what he needs from your planet."
If Thanos was obsessive enough, he would never stop searching for the Infinity Stones.
But what if, along the way, he decided to slaughter planets while searching?
The best course of action would be for planets capable of defending themselves to reinforce their defenses even further.
The Sovereign had the ability—
Their drone fleets could eliminate threats before they even got close.
All they had to do was prepare.
Ayesha lowered her gaze, deep in thought.
She carefully weighed Emperor Knight's words.
She had heard rumors about the Infinity Stones before.
A moment later, Ayesha turned on her heel, flicking her cloak dramatically over her shoulder.
"We're leaving."
Just before stepping into the ship's teleportation beam, she paused.
Looking back at Alan and his allies, her golden eyes flickered with something unreadable.
"Emperor..."
"One day, you will be the King of Sovereign!"
Then, she was gone.
...
