I’m afraid of scary movies.
It’s all my girlfriend watches. She listens to podcasts about serial killers to fall asleep. We are not the same.
I watch horror movies with her once in a while, to be a good sport. She loves how I jump into her lap, bury my face in my hands, squeal and shout at the screen. I make her sleep extra close to me at night after, and we have to keep a nightlight on in the bathroom so I don’t get spooked.
The Strangers (the original) is one of her favourite scary movies, so when the remake was released recently she asked me if we could go see it in theatres. She doesn’t ask for much, ya know? How could I say no.
This week we finally had a chance. After a stiff drink we cuddled up in the theatre with our popcorn. When the lights went down and the screen said “now for our feature presentation” a woman in the back row squeaked “oh no!” Max laughed and teased me, “you’re not the only scaredy cat, bun!”
The movie was scary (but not as scary as the first one). I thought it was over but the next day she asked as we were naked in bed and almost fucking, “what if I broke into your house wearing one of those masks?”
And there we were, wet and excited and planning another intense consensual non-consent scene. And I am so scared of that fucking mask, but I love how into this she is. It’s a twisted game and I’m curious to play.
So next week when I’m working from home with my headphones on…
