“One of the biggest hurdles I learned was the voice. All week I imagined scenarios I could act out with sweet Beth, and in them I had the command of a Queen Bitch. It was a more casually cruel version of my speaking voice. (I hate when I’m listening to an audiobook and the different voices are so over the top).
When it was showtime, my voice took on a weird whiny quality. It’s like when you’re singing a song to yourself but you realize other people are in earshot so you purposely make your voice a little goofy so it’s like ‘hahaha I don’t take myself that seriously.’
Top Voice is an art and I have a new respect for it.” (MORE ON THAT LATER!)
