Captain Kuruk grunted in approval as he and one of his subordinates hastily removed Amara and Kelleigh's collars that had kept them chained to the wall. Handling the women roughly, the hulking brutes ushered them towards the nearby pillories.
Dark Queen Velystra stopped and turned back to Captain Kuruk. "Oh, and Captain, don't kill the princess . . . I have special plans for her," she said with a wicked grin.
As panic began to overtake the two women, Princess Amara whispered to her friend and bodyguard, "I'll do my best to distract them for you." Kelleigh nodded in understanding.
