Added 2020-11-05 17:28:58 +0000 UTCA few people have joked about it so I just wanna be clear, I am 100% absolutely your emotional support Canadian. My inbox is open for you and I am here to try and distract you a little. (Photo is me on my magical birthday weekend in 2017.)
Also, the meme is silly because Canada isn’t perfect, we have so much work to do with reconciliation with First Nations people, and environmental protection, and it’s so easy for me to feel like we are progressive since I live in a big city. Just because we dont have a racist right wing piece of shit in office currently doesn’t mean we haven’t and won’t again. For native people on reservations with boil water advisories, or Northern communities where a box of cornflakes costs $12, or trans babies in the prairies where conservative values still reign, Canada is not doing any favours.
But
America is on fire, and I’ve been in close contact with all my American friends this week because these are frightening and anxiety provoking times! My grandmother says to remind all of my friends that in her 81 years the world has been about to end many times, and yet she has lived a beautiful life. That’s good wisdom on weeks like this one, so maybe she can be your emotional support Canadian grandma this week too.

Omg the cute beavers!! 😱 hopefully in time, countries will learn to work together and make each other better. Was kinda hoping something global would happen that would make that happen, but that didn’t happen. So maybe some nice aliens would like to make themselves known and try to fix some of the world’s problems? That would be ideal since our planet came up with something that didn’t work. If only. Or at least give us a head start? The world really needs to acknowledge its oneness.
