🐇

This is one of my favourite self portraits. I was fostering a mama bunny and her two little princesses at the time. I’m the “bunny lady” at our local animal shelter’s volunteer department. This little peach was so sweet, look at her strike a pose.

I’m here for you all with some Quaran-time distractions like baby bunnies on butts. I’m also here if anyone is feeling lonely or wants to vent. Especially folks who are isolated alone, and folks who have to work through all of this. Oh and definitely those of you isolated with children who NEED SOME ADULT CONVERSATION! My inbox here and on tumblr is always open.

This crisis, like most, has economic privilege. Working class people bear the brunt of it as usual. Most of the people in my life are working class. Being isolated and away from people right now is a privilege. I have two people in my household who are currently considered essential services. I can stay home but I don’t have the privilege of being isolated. Neither do my neighbours who are nurses, or live with correctional officers, or midwives who are in and out of hospitals, or work at the pharmacy or the grocery store or my brother who has to take public transit to work every day, or my mother. The city said they’re reviewing the list and announcing new restrictions this week, Max will still have to work but there’s a chance my husband’s job will be postponed too, like mine. We are taking it day by day.

What’s happening where you live? Do you know anyone who has covid-19? Feel free to say hi, I’m around. 💖

Thanks for sharing darlin. This is a lot. I’m surprised they don’t have stay at home orders in DC, but I’m really glad the illness hasn’t gotten too close to you. 💕

It’s going alright for me. I’m with my parents, who work from home, they only go out for walks and I’d they need to go to the grocery store, in those early hours of the morning for the people 66 and up. Otherwise, we all stay inside. There hasn’t been an order for people in DC to stay inside yet, but it’ll probably happen soon. I don’t think any of my friends have had the virus, I had one cousin who had it and is over it. Our neighbor had it, she got it in February. It was a whole think that she didn’t know she did, because when she got the test, someone tested for other strains of the virus, and not this strain, which is ridiculous, so she went on her normal life and probably passed it on to who knows how many other people. She recently recovered, though now her husband and one of their sons had to deal with it. That’s the only story so far of people I know getting it.

Thank you for the distraction :)
